  Went out with Captain Billy and Alaska Photo Excursions on Monday Aug 30. What an amazing experience, numerous opportunities to observe humpback whale bubble net feeding. Captain Billy is an excellent guide and a great person. Best whale watching trip ever! Highly recommend

  We decided on this private whale watching tour while on our Alaskan Cruise. It was the best decision ever! We had such an amazing intimate experience. Billy was a great captain! You won’t regret booking a tour here.

  My husband and I had an amazing whale watching trip with Captain Billy! He is a local so he is extremely knowledgeable about the area and the wildlife. He was able to take us up close to the whales for an unforgettable experience and he even found us a bear! So unique and personal, Captain Billy is awesome. If you're visiting by cruise, skip the ship excursion and book with Wooshkeetaan Tours, you won't be disappointed!

  Captain Billy provided us with the best whale watching and wildlife tour we have ever had in Alaska. I think he enjoyed the tour as much as we did since we saw several female and young orca whales up close and a huge male orca that was twice the size of the females. We also saw humpbacks but the orca were more fun and playful. As an added bonus Billy went along the shore so we could see brown bear. His fishing boat was cozy and warm perfect for a small group. No doubt a true 5 star experience.

  It was an MARVELOUS ADVENTURE!!! I was with my daughter, grandson 25, granddaughter 23. we took 2 tours, 1st day Captain Billy knew where to go for WHALE WATCHING in Icy Straits. We also saw Humpbacks breaching, Killer Whales scouting with their young, A bear walking along the shore towards a River. Captain Billy was so experienced & knowledgeable. 2nd day we went Fishing also in Icy Straits. We caught our limit of Halibut, then tried Coho fishing although Captain Billy tried we didn't get a Coho but it was fun anyway. When we got back we found out no boats that day caught Cohos. MARVELOUS ADVENTURE & A WONDERFUL EXPERIENCE.

  This was an amazing tour. Captain Billy needs us where to go to see the whales breaching. As you return to the harbor a mother whale and her baby swim beside us for about 20 minutes.. we feel so blessed to have had this once in a lifetime experience.

  Fantastic trip. We have been on many whale watches and this is the only one where multiple species interacted -- three orcas killed and ate a sea lion right in front of the boat while four humpbacks circled for safety. Another dozen sea lions watched warily from a safe distance. After more of all of these, plus diving ducks and floating sea otters, we watched bears fishing on the shoreline. Captain Billy is charming, patient and utterly knowledgeable about all local lore going back three generations. Exceptional representative of an exceptional place!

  Captain Billy took us to see humpback whales breaching, and then we saw a pod of Orcas (Moms teachings their young to hunt). He is so knowledgeable about the wildlife because he’s native to Hoonah & has been fishing these waters since he was a kid. Definitely take this tour!

  We had three tours with Billy. First was Whale watching saw a lot of Humpback, my wife was really into this she said magical more than a Harry Potter flick. The trip back we puts some lines in the water for a little trolling. caught a couple bait fish. He then took us to a Halibut honey hole stayed until we got tired of catching them. Next day he took us to excursion cannery, fished excursion inlet. Kept the 4 sockeye and 5 CoHo used the bad for bait Halibut fishing Had a little action kept 3 good ones. third trip was right off icy point. Trolled for a couple hours again many CoHo and few bait fish. went to another Halibut hole and had several keepers.

  We had the BEST time with Billy! We were visiting from Tennessee and were lucky to charter with Billy. We went Whale watching and Fishing. His expertise cant be beat. Not only that, he has great stories. He knew the best spots to see whales and to fish. While watching for whales we saw 2 pods playing around. We also were able to catch some great fish. I would charter with Billy anytime!! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!
